On April 1st South London trio Black Manila released new 7″ “Shake That Thing”, recorded and produced by Liam Watson in ‘Toe Rag Studios, where he co-produced/recorded Grammy award winning album ‘Elephant’ with the White Stripes.
The release was followed by a gigantic 3 weeks european tour, with gigs in Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, Denmark and Sweden.

“June 95” – the EP released in December 2012 on Fatal Justice – was a sunshine blast of real rock’n’roll that rubs the underside of Black Manila’s west coast influences while blowing you kisses from a Brixton basement. It was recorded by Patrick Constable of Selfish Cunt fame.

Hailing from South London Black Manila are a three piece fronted by the gravel-pit voiced Gareth ‘Sun King’ Hoskins (Guitar/Vox), with Conrad Armstrong and Liam Ramsden taking control of the rhythm section and adding their own delirious brand of vocals.

“Black Manila come over all raggedy ass guitar, a bass line that bubbles like Hawkwind’s suspiciously smelling pipe and vocals that shriek like Mick Jagger at his wired out peak.” Clash Magazine

“Raconteurs lo-fi attitude and Kings of Leon’s penchant for rough-and-ready hooks, and apply these traits to their own brand of alt.rock.” The Metro
