Unfold is the fifth solo album from the experimental pop artist Synne Sanden.
The album is composed by Sanden and produced by the well known producer Lars Horntveth, who has produced for Susanne Sundfør, Fieh, Aha and Kimbra, and is also a member and bandleader of Jaga Jazzist.
Synne Sanden writes about the things we find difficult and vulnerable to talk about, what we are ashamed of, about personal growth and healing.
Gaffa writes «she has succeeded in finding her own voice, both musically as well as lyrically».
Synne Sanden combines the catchy and the beautiful, with the quirky, expressive and raw and creates songs and soundscapes where you can hear her unique signature.

The album Unfold is about taking back your body and sexuality, after boundaries have been crossed.
She writes about creating a new safety, where it ́s been unsafe, and how the good and important sexuality gives nearness, vitality, presence and a sense of belonging, and how these painful sexual experiences can make you feel weak and small.

On the album you can hear vocals, beats, moon drums, rhodes, accordion, drums, synths, harp, strings, bass clarinet, vibrafone and pedal steel.
Some songs are co-produced by Synne Sanden, Kim Reenskaug and Peter Estdahl.
The co-producers are playing on the album, together with Synne ́s permanent band consisting of: Julie Kleive, Henrik Schmidt, Lars Fremmerlid and Jørgen Apeness. Ellen Bødtker is guesting on harp on two songs and Lise Sørensen is playing strings on several songs.

Synne Sanden conveys her emotions and strength, from her deepest layer, and you can hear her doing this in a very large degree on Unfold.

PR: KARMA VOYAGE

Lights in Forgotten Places is the first full length for Karma Voyage from Venice, released January 27th, 2023 on CDs, vinyls and digital on Shyrec (IT) and Icy Cold Records (FR).
Lights in Forgotten Places fluctuates between light and darkness, with the musicians painting the tracks with sounds coming from their different backgrounds, avoiding to be stuck on a single genre.
At the same time, it’s a bare album, far from clichés. Emotions pour on the listener giving freedom to create different visions, allthough it’s not lacking guitars crescendo and wild rides almost oniric, leading to nordic empty spaces. Not by chance, the track New Foundations features the unmistakable voice of Nils Ottensmeyer from Blue Angel Lounge.

Karma Voyage were born at the end of 2019 as neo-psych experimental band, with strong new wave influences. The project was started by Luca Castellaro (guitars and vocals) and Giuseppe Brunetti (solo guitars), with the addition in May 2020 of Alvise Scarpa (bass), Leonardo Sebastiani (synth) and Edoardo Dotta (drums).
Anticipated by the single Untold Desires, their first EP was released in October 2021 by the cult french label Icy Cold Records, and quickly got recognition in the neo psych underground, being even shared on Captain Beefheart’s YouTube Channel.
From August to November 2022, with the new drummer Stefano Anoè, Karma Voyage recorded at Velvet Studio Lights in Forgotten Places, produced by Luca Castellaro.

Released on January 13th, 2023 Shine is the first single taken from the album. The video shows Karma Voyage unleashing dreamy shoegaze waves in the blackest night, surrounded by a forest, while a red-haired woman seems to officiate ancient rituals with candles, a worn book, a mask and a mirror. This is an apt metaphor for how much the neo-psychesters from Venice love the antinomy between light and darkness, questioning the concept of reality as we see it.

Glances is Kodaclips debut album, released by Overdub Recordings.

The album title is a tribute to one of their main influences, quoting the lyrics from Don, Aman, the 3rd track from the masterpiece Spiderland by Slint.

Being completely self-produced and self-recorded, Glances keeps a strong intimate feeling.
The lyrics are cryptic, thanks to the use of the cut-up technique, with the vocals often drowned in reverb.
Thematically, Glances deals with the ups and downs of depression, apathy, ominous signs, and dreamy moods.

The sound ranges from shoegaze and post-punk to space rock, with elements from math and post, with a rough sound that reminds of 90’s vibes.

The guitars create walls of distortion and ethereal atmospheres, doubling the energy pouring from the rhythm section.

Kodaclips were founded in the second half of 2021.
Each member came from a different artistic background, ranging from psychedelia to stoner and progressive, and in Kodaclips these sounds melt, together with 90’s vibes.
Heavily influenced by the second wave of shoegaze, especially by the italogaze scene, Kodaclips enjoy to experiment with melodic and arrangement ideas.
They made their stage debut towards the end of 2021 and, after a few local shows, they were chosen as opening act for of A Place to Bury Strangers’ Italy tour.

Two chords, basic drumming and vocals drowned into reverberation and delays. Not My Sound is the very first song ever written by Kodaclips, before they even found a name for the band.
It’s also the song that, played live, gained them enthusiastic appreciation from APTBS when Kodaclips opened their Italian shows.
The theme of the song is the uncomfortable feeling of being naked in face of a world that does not recognise who you actually are, and the desire to run away from this kind of indifference before losing your own identity.

Not My Sound video premiere
‘Not My Sound’ is a sun-blocking wave of sound that fills the senses. Insistent drums drive a barrage of fuzzy, howling guitars over the top of distant, arctic vocals that are augmented by a backing chorus haunting and enigmatic. The sound is visceral, thundering, all encompassing, leaving you hollowed out in catatonic bliss at the end.
