Levi is the solo project of Damiano Simoncini, italian musician from Pesaro already known in the international scene in the past decade as drummer and songwriter with the post-punk bands Damien* and Versailles.

Released on June 14th, 2022 by Black Marmalade Records, Synthesis follows the EP Aquarius (2019) and Liquida (2020).

Inspired by the visionary movies of Lynch, Bergman and Lang, akin to the sound ventures of contemporary composers as Oneothrix Point Never and Steve Auschildt, in love with the orchestral arrangements of the Maestro Ennio Morricone, Synthesis is the breed of the pressures and emergencies gripping both our inner and outside worlds, all related.
Heavy electronics creates almost hypnagogic states of mind, in a journey through different sub-genres looking for impossible answers about the near future.
Synthesis could be the playlist for a ghost radio station floating in deep, dark interstellar space: six tracks, less than 30 minutes, to focus the listening experience on our subjective perception of electronic-generated soundwaves.

Eurasia, like the whole album, was born during the first lockdown, in a state of global disturbance, at the same time adrenaline-charged.
In Levi’s case, this digitally shared loneliness was exacerbated by the unexpected deaths of two close friends: Andrea Guagneli (of the band’s Brothers in Law), dear friend and companion of many adventures and projects, and Mirko Bertuccioli, another musician killed by Covid-19, who’d been for many years the most active and enthusiast aggregator for the local music scene.
In this chaos of pain, anguish, melancholy and fear it came a sort of “epiphany”: the feeling that the world-as-we-knew-it changed, radically, and not just for health reasons .
I clearly perceived the ‘collision’ between two different worlds, in some ways antithetical and incommunicable, and I sounded this feeling of ‘end of epoch’ and the beginning of another, more uncertain, darker, for sure unstable and fated to a sort of final confrontation. East versus West. Europe (and the West) against Asia (and the East). Hence the name Eurasia, seeking in the semantic crasis to show how stupid and useless divisions are, and how deleterious and devastating they can become.
Eurasia sounds menacingly apocalyptic, with heavy drones building up to a psych-trance climax, with waves of sounds opening our perception, an attitude dear to musicians like The Telescopes, Sonic Boom, Dreamweapon.
The video is the recording of the live visual of the song created by Gabriele Ottino, a video artist from Turin and a member of Niagara, with whom Levi has been collaborating for years.

Wow Sailor is the name of the solo-project of musician, composer and producer Kim Uglum Reenskaug from Oslo, Norway.
Wow Sailor upcoming album Happy Fear is composed, recorded and mixed by Reenskaug who weaves together a auditive fabric of field recordings, samples and synths and creates an atmospheric, emotional and meditative landscape.
Trumpet extraordinaire Arve Henriksen and vocalist Synne Sanden makes significant contributions to the album. Their participation amplifies the landscapes and makes them emotionally engaging to experience. Stig Reenskaug, the brother of the artist, contribute with a floating and dynamic violin and warm and earthy guitars.
The album is about the contrasting emotions joy and fear, how they both thrive in us and in cunning ways are intertwined and live side by side.
Happy Fear takes us there, into the uncomfortable fear and the light joy that makes the darkness disappear, grounding us. The album is a journey through the internal world, through our universal feelings working together and against each other.
The music, and the poem that the titles make out, allows you to lay down and disappear in to another world where feelings and their imagery can come to the surface, where everything can be allowed to be abstract, yet near.

In addition to his solo-project Reenskaug is the drummer of Norwegian indie-rock band Oh Yeah Tiger. He collaborates closely with experimental pop singer Synne Sanden, and is co-producing her upcoming, fifth album Unfold.
Reenskaug is currently working with two stage performances. Taking Root premiered at the Open Out festival in Tromsø and was part of Meteor International Theater festival in Bergen. Corentin JPM Levens’ performance Birds Of Ill Omen premieres in Oslo’s Black Box Theater March 2022.

Wow Sailor plans to tour internationally with Happy Fear in 2022/23.

Before We Can Be Together is the first released track from the upcoming album Happy Fear by Wow Sailor, out on Dugnad Rec on October 14th, 2022.
This composition is an atmospheric conversation in which a living and textured environment comes into being. The track is about the search for emotional clarity and connection to the world.
A hybrid instrumental exploration in which electronic and acoustic instruments blends with a field recording from a chance encounter while travelling.
The song features guitars and violin by Stig Reenskaug and vocals by Synne Sanden.
The music video is made by Norwegian video artist Benjamin Torvik, who assembled a collage of analog footage from Oslo. The tactile approach blends well with the music and brings out a poetic nostalgia and melancholy from mundane situations.

PINHDAR

Parallel is the second album from the Milan based duo PINHDAR, released on March 26th 2021 for the English label Fruits de Mer Records. Announced in January by its title track chosen as the first single, the album was entirely recorded during the lockdown caused by the COVID-19 epidemic and subsequently co-produced by Howie B (Björk, Massive Attack, Tricky, Everything But The Girl, U2 …) It’s a concept, a journey through human fears and frailties, going up from song to song as in Dante’s Circles of Hell, from the fear of death up to an escape route, represented by the infinite coda of the last song.

Since exploding onto the music scene in 2019 with their self-titled debut PINHDAR have further refined their brand of Psychedelic dark Pop on this latest album. The duo have made a name for themselves on both sides of the Atlantic when in the band Nomoredolls; relentlessly playing New York venues like CBGB’s, Knitting Factory & Arlene’s Grocery and established a loyal US fanbase before moving on to establish PINHDAR. Under the new name and armed with a new sound it wasn’t long before they’d won over the ears of legendary British critic and Rock Music Biographer Kris Needs.

So impressed with the band’s unique sound, Kris invited them to play at the launch of his new book in London, all the while ‘TOY’ was starting to gain critical acclaim across the world with VICE/Noisey listing it in their top 10 tracks of 2019 and legendary station KEXP adding it to their repertoire.

PINHDAR are currently touring Europe as a trio, joined by drummer/multi-instrumentalist Alessandro Baris, while demoing new songs for a new release planned in 2023.
